Sue Starr is a Rockwell, Texas-based educational administrator with more than two decades of experience in varying roles including, most recently, as principal at Northeast Mid-High School in Oklahoma, where she earned the Class Matters Change Makers Award for her work in developing the school's engineering and STEM program. Moreover, the school earned back-to-back National Academy Foundation Model School awards. Supplementing her role as principal of the school, Sue Starr was appointed to the Oklahoma City Public Schools Northeast Task Force.
Prior to her most recent position, Sue Starr held assistant principal roles at both Star Spencer High School and Rogers Middle School, both of which are part of Oklahoma City Public Schools. Earlier in her career, she worked as a school counselor at three different schools in Texas. She began her career as an English teacher at Lyles Middle School in 1997.
Building upon her academic accolades, Ms. Starr recently completed a doctorate in organizational leadership at Northcentral University. She previously earned master's degrees in school counseling, educational administration, and education at Amberton University, Prairie View A&M University, and the University of Texas, respectively. In addition, she holds a bachelor's degree in English from Jarvis Christian College.
